This groovy DB5 was first registered ‘FPP 4C’ and sold new to ‘Sales’ on 4th February 1965, finished in Roman Purple as documented on the works build sheet
The AMOC register confirms the car was originally owned by Lady Brown, wife of Sir David Brown, then owner of Aston Martin Lagonda ltd
Sir David Brown often chose to specify his own cars in Roman Purple, we have had the privilege of previously handling the sale of his Lagonda Rapide, specified from new in the same colour combination as this car
The DB5 later found its way to the United States and in 1991 the car is listed as owned by ‘Bradwell’ who showed it at ‘British Car Show’ scoring a 1st place with appropriate registration ‘AM DB5′
The DB5 is listed in the 2000 edition register under ‘S.Serio’, a well-known classic car dealer and friend of Dylan Miles Ltd and former owner of Boston based ‘Aston Martin Of New England’
The car was maintained by marque specialists Steel Wings of Pennsylvania for a number of years prior to the car being acquired by HH Shiekh Nasser Al-Sabah to join his extensive collection in Kuwait via our friends at Autosport Designs in NY
Acquired on behalf of a client by Dylan Miles Ltd in 2019, we repatriated the car to the UK whereupon it was delievered to RSW for a concours standard ‘body off’ restoration, completed in late 2024 when these photos were taken. One of the finest DB5 models extant with an important history
