1968 Mercedes Benz 280SL Pagoda

This original UK delivered right hand drive 280SL Pagoda was first registered on the 6^th May 1969 and finished in DB423 Tobacco Brown Coachwork with MB Tex interior colour 139 Bamboo and Brown carpets, as confirmed by the original data card retained within the original owners handbook which remains with this special car

In addition to the data card, the handbook contains the original service booklet that documents the maintenance programme from 1970-2006, evidenced by numerous stamps as listed below:

In 2014 a full restoration was commissioned with leading Mercedes Benz restoration company Cardock Classics in Ireland, who subsequently completed a no expense spared, concours standard restoration, that is fully documented with extensive photographs showing the extent of the works completed

The chassis underwent a complete strip down and the body was stripped to bare metal and re-painted in stunning Bronze-Brown metallic DB461 paintwork. The entire car was re-built with many new items including a complete wiring loom, all seals & rubbers, seat inners, new mirrors etc all supplied by Mercedes

The mechanical aspects pf the car were also completely stripped and rebuilt including engine, drivetrain, suspension, braking system etc. The end result was absolutely outstanding, resulting in one of the finest original right-hand drive 280SL models extant

Clearly a car that was always maintained regularly as evidenced by the original service book, this superb Pagoda is offered with original book pack containing original data cards, original service book, original owner’s handbook and parts catalogue. In addition, extensive photographs of the restoration accompany the car and a modern Becker Mexico Bluetooth radio is fitted along with its factory hard top

Acquired by the seller in 2014, this superb Pagoda has covered just over 5000 miles since its restoration and has recently returned from Jersey where its original UK registration has been applied for and is currently in process. The perfect summer cruiser and ready to be enjoyed immediately
