History

This stunning 1974 Jaguar V12 E Type Roadster – 6.2 Litre was completed on January 1st 1974 for export to the United States, where it remained until its repatriation to the UK in 2015. Acquired by a long standing client of ours in 2017, an avid collector of European sports cars whose vision was to create a unique ‘restomod’ V12 Roadster with exceptional looks and performance

Having acquired the car in original unrestored condition, a ground up body off restoration was commissioned with the brief to create a unique high performance V12 E Type Roadster that incorporated styling cues from the first series of the model, with Lightweight style rear bodywork, Series one style bonnet with covered headlights and powered by a bespoke uprated V12 drivetrain

The mechanical restoration was entrusted to longstanding Jaguar exponent Richard Beaty of Phoenix International, son of Ronald Beaty, a pivotal experimental Jaguar factory engineer for the V12 programme and founder of Forward Engineering, industry leaders responsible for the development of high performance V12 Jaguar engines that were later utilised in both Lister and TWR models

The extensive bare metal bodywork restoration and enhancements were undertaken by Classic Motorsport in Rome and are fully documented with photos and invoices on file. The large bespoke wire wheels were constructed at great expense by Turrino and its wider tires are essential to help in transferring 420BHP/500lb/ft of torque from the rear wheels to the road!

The complete specification of the car is listed below and the project cost in excess of EUR 250,000; the end result is spectacular and believe us when we tell you this car easily out performs any twelve cylinder E Type we have ever driven

Supplied with original hardtop, extensive history file documenting the restoration with invoices and photographs for this , UK V5 registration, original owners book pack and fresh out of restoration, the new custodian of this growling cat will certainly stand out from the crowd at any car event!
