1990 Aston Martin V8 Volante EFi – The Penultimate EFi Volante

One of 216 V8 Volante EFi produced between 1986-1990 and one of just 44 right hand drive examples, the sole right hand drive example delivered new in Winchester Blue coachwork and Parchment hides

The second to last EFi Volante ever produced and first registered Jan 1990, very late production car and the ninth from last ever V8 Volante (840/849 cars)

Ordered direct from the factory by the first owner Mr Paul Hammerson of Fitzjohns Avenue, London NW1, specified in Winchester Blue coachwork with Parchment hides piped Navy Blue, Navy Blue hood and carpets with wool overrugs and bespoke Tanne and Krolle Aston Martin fitted luggage

Registered ‘PET 666’, the Volante was used regularly for the first few years of its life before being put into storage by Hammerson in an underground car park by Regents Park, where it would remain until 2015, whereupon he gave the car to AM specialists Aston Service London for major recommissioning with mileage @ 21,881

Invoices on file show he spent GBP 16,651 having the AC system upgraded, new brake servos, master cylinder, braided brake lines, new radiator, renewed fuel lines for the injection system etc. According to Mrs Hammerson her husband used the car as his daily transport from 2015 to his death in 2021, accruing a further 29,231 miles in that time, with regular and reliable trips to Europe. Indeed the car lived on his driveway and become something a local legend amongst car enthusiasts!

Mr Hammerson passed in early 2021 and we purchased the car via RS Williams in June 2021 with milage at 51,112 miles whereupon we undertook a major cosmetic restoration and further mechanical recommissioning with RSW

The chassis was restored with new outer sills, repairs to inner sills and any corrosion cut away and replaced with new metal before a full repaint by retaining its original hue of Winchester Blue, at a cost of over GBP 20K with all invoices and images on file, both bumpers replated etc etc

Shod with a brand new set of Ronal wheels and Michelin tires, original Nardi steering wheel, Blaupunkt Bremen radio with DAB and RSW Big Bore exhaust fitted, this well sorted Volante is in excellent condition.

Being the penultimate V585 EFI Volante accompanied by low ownership and wonderful specifcation, this was one of favourite examples of the many V8 Volante models we have been fortunate to handle the sale of
