1964 Aston Martin DB5

History

Dispatched on 24^th June 1964 to Brooklands of Bond St for William Inman and partners, Lincolns Inn, London

Originally finished in Platinum coachwork with Black hide to RHD ‘Home Market’ specification

Options included Selectaride shock absorbers and heated rear window

Later exported to Australia and re-patriated to the UK in the 1990s

Acquired by the present owner in 2000 and has resided in a significant private UK based collection ever since

A matching number example which retains a high degree of originality including original chassis plate and Superleggera body plate, original Motorola Aston Martin radio and twin mounted front speakers, original speedometer and tachometer with Aston Martin badges on both and original dashboard toggle switches

Regularly maintained by Tim Samways and fitted with a Harvey Bailey handling kit

Invited on three separate occasions to act as the ‘Safety/Course Car’ at the Goodwood Revival

A usable example ‘as-is’ or a superb candidate for a concours level restoration
