History
The V8 Coupe was constructed between 1996-1998 and shared visual similarities with the brutish twin supercharged Vantage of the period, but with the absence of the large width Vantage wheel aches, the design was both subtle and elegant
Over the V8 Coupe’s two year production life just 101 cars were constructed, all delivered with four speed automatic transmission, with sixty nine right hand drive cars built. The V8 Coupe remains well sort after by collectors and enthusiasts looking for a true coach-built Aston Martin without the complication of superchargers and the model is a truly underrated modern classic Aston Martin
The 32 valve eight cylinder engine retained the traditional capacity of 5340 cc and was essentially a non-supercharged version of the Vantage unit, producing 349 bhp and 369 lbft torque, giving the car a claimed maximum speed of ‘over’ 155mph and a zero to 60 time of a mere 5.9 seconds
The six spoke ‘Saturn’ alloy wheels were supplied by OZ and have slimmer spokes than that of the Vantage, originally shod with Pirelli P Zero 255/50 tyres, although it is possible to see V8 Coupes with the Vantage OZ 6 spoke wheels or the hollow spoke Dymag wheels
This late production example is car number 82 of 101 units and was first registered on 1st August 1998, finished in Avon Black coachwork with Magnolia hides. Having benefitted from just three owners from new, the vendor acquired the Aston in September 2004 and it has covered just 28,000 miles from new. Maintained throughout the vendors ownership by marque exponents RSW, this ‘fresh to market’ coach-built Aston is a stylish and capable GT car and represents excellent value for money
