History

One of 26 DBRS9 race cars constructed by Prodrive Aston Martin Racing to compete in GT3 category races. This car was delivered with optional six speed sequential transaxle and twin plate racing AP clutch

This chassis DBRS9/6 is the seventh car produced (first car was chassis X1) and delivered new to BMS Scuderia Italia who at the time were an Aston Martin Racing ‘Works’ partner team also competing in GT1 with two DBR9’s in the FIA GT Championship and Le Mans 24 hours

Supplied in Aston Martin Racing green livery constructed to FIA GT3 specification and campaigned in European GT3 championships in 2006/7

Acquired by Brixxia Racing who ran the car for the entire 2008 FIA GT3 Championship

In 2009 and 2010 the car was campaigned successfully in the Spanish GT Championship, Portuguese GT Championship and Open GT Series under the banner of the Vodafone team for the CEO of Vodafone Portugal, Antonio Coimbra, securing 2nd place in the Portuguese GT

Prepared and ran by respected Portuguese motorsport organisation ‘Sports and You’ during that period, the car was rebuilt by them at the end of the 2010 season which included a full engine rebuild by Aston Martin Racing (invoice on file)

Having been used for a handful of track days since, this DBRS9 is supplied with a spare set of wheels, spare set of slicks and wet tires, comprehensive historical file which includes original Italian and Portuguese technical passports, full race results, FIA GT3 homologation details, AMR DBRS9 parts manuals and AMR operating documents

Also included within the sale are two full days race tuition with former Aston Martin Works driver Sam Hancock http://samhancock.com/

We recommend the new owner utilises the excellent services of Tim Samways Sporting and Historic Car Engineers to run and maintain the car. They can store, deliver to the circuit, run and maintain the car alongside a fleet of DBR9s which they prepare http://www.timsamways.co.uk/
